Sweet and Sour Fruit Kebabs

A very nutritious, tangy dessert.

Servings 12 People

Ingredients
  

  • Glace cherries
  • Dried prunes, pitted
  • Dried apples, cut into 4
  • Dried peaches, cut into 4
  • Dried pineapple rings, cut into 4
  • Dried apricots

Sauce:

  • 500 ml Freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 500 ml castor sugar
  • 250 ml Brandy or Drambuie

Instructions
 

  • Place fruit on 24 skewer sticks, alternating colours, and placing the cherry in the centre.
  • Place side by side in the Season Serve.
  • Combine sauce ingredients in a saucepan and heat over low heat until sugar is dissolved.
  • When heated, pour over kebabs and allow to cool for 10 minutes. Seal Season Serve and flip.
  • Can be prepared 3 to 4 days before serving, remembering to flip from time to time. Serve with cream or custard.

Notes

Dried fruit is easier to cut with scissors dipped in flour. Don't place the fruit too tightly together on the sticks, because the fruit will swell.
