Mince and Veggie Pie

Ingredients
  

  • 500 g puff pastry I bought mine but I shared the link to my pastry recipe (http://kasheringyourlife.co.za/index.php/recipes/easy-puff-pastry-recipe/)
  • 300 g lean beef mince
  • 500 g frozen vegetables of your choice
  • 1 onion finely diced
  • 1-2 cloves garlic crushed
  • 2 tsp Marsala spice
  • 15 ml cooking oil
  • 2 Tbs flour
  • 2 tsp Bisto
  • 75 ml water
  • 1 egg lightly beaten

Instructions
 

  • In a pot fry the onion and garlic with the Marsala till the onion is glassy.
  • Add the mince and fry for 5 minutes, breaking up any clumps of meat.
  • Add the vegetables, flour, Bisto and water, till a gravy has formed and most of the meat is brown.
  • Turn the stove to low and simmer the meat. While this is happening roll your pastry thinly and cut it to fit your pie dish, remember that it will shrink a little in the oven, so it should be slightly over the edge of the dish. Spoon the meat mixture in and cover with the rest of the pastry, fold the edges of the base over the covering pastry a little and brush with the beaten egg.
  • Place the pie in the centre of the oven for 20 minutes at 180 C
