
Yoghurt Marinated Chicken
A pleasant combination of flavours ensures that this chicken dish is a popular healthy alternative to meat at a braai. Or serve with boiled potatoes and a green salad for a lunch.
Ingredients
- 6 Chicken portions
- 600 ml Yoghurt
- 1 Small onion, grated
- 1 Clove garlic, crushed
- 25 ml Lemon juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prick the chicken with a fork and place in a junior season serve.
- Shake the remaining ingredients together in the quick shake. Pour over chicken and seal.
- Allow to marinate for about 8 hours, flipping over from time to time.
- Grill over coals or in the oven.
- Heat the marinade over low heat and serve with the chicken.
Notes
Yoghurt curdles if cooked for a long time, so heat for a short time only. Or mix 5ml cornflour with a little water, add to yoghurt sauce and stir constantly. This marinade is also delicious with lamb or beef.
