
Crisp Kingklip Casserole
Tender fish baked in a creamy sauce with crispy topping.
Ingredients
- 30 ml Butter or margarine
- 1 Onion, chopped
- 20 ml Flour
- 500 ml Milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 500 ml Cooked Kingklip or Hake, flaked
- 250 ml Grated cheese
- 250 ml Cornflake crumbs
Instructions
- Preheat oven at 180 degrees celcius. Grease a casserole dish.
- Melt butter and sauté onion. Add flour and cook for a further minute.
- Remove from stove and add milk. Mix well.
- Cook sauce till thick, stirring continuously. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Add the cooked Kingklip. Pour mixture into greased casserole dish.
- Mix cheese and crumbs together and sprinkle over fish.
- Bake for about 20 minutes.
